Overview
Tricon’s Commercial Development Program is designed to prepare high-potential graduates for commercial and trading roles within the global commodities business and offer opportunities for long-term success at an industry-leading company.
Program participants move between structured rotations in key functions that support Tricon’s commercial activities, including operations, market intelligence, and risk management. The program provides exposure to global trade flows, customer relationships, and risk-driven decision-making.
This is not a theoretical training program. Participants are embedded within teams, contribute to work that moves our company forward, and are expected to perform in a fast-paced, commercial environment.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Selected participants will complete rotations in three key areas over a 2–3 year period:
Operations
Participants will develop a commercial understanding of how disciplined, efficient operations enable profitable physical trading. This rotation focuses on how trades are executed, optimized, and controlled across their full lifecycle.
- Exposure to end-to-end commodity operations across global trade flows
- Contract execution, logistics coordination, documentation, and settlement processes
- Interaction with traders, counterparties, logistics providers, and internal teams
- Understanding physical delivery, operational risks, and control frameworks
Market Intelligence
This rotation focuses on the analytical and commercial foundations that support trading decisions.
- Market analysis, price monitoring, and benchmark tracking
- Supply and demand fundamentals across regions and products
- Analysis of industry trends, trade flows, and geopolitical developments
- Support for commercial strategy development and trading ideas
Risk Management
Participants will build a solid understanding of how Tricon manages financial and non-financial risks throughout the trading lifecycle.
- Monitoring market risk, exposures, and position limits
- Preparing P&L, position, and risk reports
- Supporting risk governance, controls, and compliance processes
- Analyzing risk drivers and potential impacts on trading performance
- Collaborating with traders and commercial teams to promote risk-aware decisions
Your learning will be supported through individual mentorship, formal training sessions, and regular interactions with Tricon’s senior leadership team.
